Try some FungiCure to get rid of the fungus. If that doesn’t work, you will need to go see your doctor to get a prescription. Then use something like Diamond strenght clear nail polish to help them grow and stay strong.

what do i do about my fingernail fungus?

I am in desperate need of some advice. Just recently I noticed that my index finger is kinda yellow and I has small little bumps on the right side of the nail. I don’t know how to treat it because I heard that over the counter medicine was bad for you liver but also that creams and stuff doesnt work either. Please tell me what worked and how you got it.
Thanks so much! <3

Onychomycosis is fungal infection of the nail plate, nail bed, or both.
Over-the-counter creams and ointments generally do not help treat this condition.
Prescription antifungal medicines taken by mouth may help clear the fungus in about 50% of patients. However, such medicines can cause side effects or may interfere with other medications. Some of the oral medications used to treat fungal infections of the nail can harm the liver.
In some cases, the health care provider may remove the nail. Nails grow slowly. Even if treatment is successful, a new, clearer nail may take up to a year to grow in.

Toenail fungus??!?!?!!!?

Since last year the side of my two big toenails (the skin part) have been a little red, lumpy, and sooo painful!
and just now i was on my bed and i realized this gooey green stuff has come out of one of my toenails! what is this?
is it fungus?
& How much does it cost to get treatment for this?
and i take a shower day and night!
DONT BE MEAN!

Sounds like an infection. Even if it isn’t you can go to your doctor and have them look it over and tell you. If you have a foot fungus there are over the counter treatments and they range in price and effectiveness. My husband had a prescription treatment that insurance refused to cover. I wrote them a letter explaining it was a medical condition and they decided to cover it!? Either way I think it’s treatable but you should have it checked out! I am no medical expert but also I’ve heard of ingrown nails causing a lot of pain etc.

Good luck!

What is the best way to get rid of toe-nail fungus?

Wear well-ventilated shoes
Take off your socks and go barefoot as often as you can. The fungus thrives in warm, moist, dark environments
Wash your feet daily
Keep your feet and toenails clean; use a nailbrush to scrub away dead fungus, dirt and nail tissue, especially under the toenails
Wash and dry your feet very well. When drying, try to wipe and brush your feet with vigor to help improve circulation and remove dead skin
Sprinkle anti-bacterial powder into your shoes
Make sure your socks and shoes are not too tight
Stay away from buying shoes made from synthetic materials
Alternate your shoes each time you wear them
Stay away from using heavy toenail polish
Stay away from using heavy toenail polish
Try to keep your toenails as short as possible (and do not share your nail clippers)
Wear rubber shoes, flip flops or water shoes in communal bathrooms
Throw away your old shoes to avoid reinfection
Soak your foot in warm lapacha tea (this can be bought at the health food store)
Do not give up! Do not forget a treatment and persist for around seven months.

I have toenail fungus HELP?

The fungus is yellow-white and growing under my nail of one of my toes. I’m scared that the fungus will spread to my other toe nails.

It’s spreading and growing at the side under my nail. I clipped it back as far as i could and i’m using hydrogen peroxide.
The yellow part is thicker than the rest of the nail and discolored.

I can’t find any toenail fungus treatment. All the meds are for Athelete’s foot which i DO NOT have. Are there any home remedies for this?

I don’t want it to spread and get my nail removed. I told my parents about this and they are NOT willing to take me to a doctor. They said that it’ll get better on it’s own WHICH IT WON’T since i did a bit of research on it.

Are there any cures for toenail fungus?
Help please!

Nail fungus

Introduction

An infection of nail fungus (onychomycosis) occurs when fungi infect one or more of your nails. Onychomycosis (on-i-ko-mi-KO-sis) usually begins as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the nail fungus spreads deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and develop crumbling edges — an unsightly and potentially painful problem.

Infections of nail fungus account for about half of all nail disorders. These infections usually develop on nails continually exposed to warm, moist environments, such as sweaty shoes or shower floors. Nail fungus isn’t the same as athlete’s foot, which primarily affects the skin of the feet, but at times the two may coexist and can be caused by the same type of fungus.

An infection with nail fungus may be difficult to treat, and infections may recur. But medications are available to help clear up nail fungus permanently.

Treatment

Nail fungus can be difficult to treat, and repeated infections are common. Over-the-counter antifungal nail creams and ointments are available, but they aren’t very effective. Fortunately, other nonsurgical treatments have been introduced during the last 10 years.

Oral medications

To treat nail fungus, your doctor may prescribe an oral antifungal medication, such as:

Itraconazole (Sporanox)
Fluconazole (Diflucan)
Terbinafine (Lamisil)

These medications help a new nail grow free of infection, slowly replacing the infected portion of your nail. You typically take these medications for six to 12 weeks but won’t see the end result of treatment until the nail grows back completely. It may take four to 12 months to eliminate an infection. Recurrent infections are possible, especially if you continue to expose your nails to warm, moist conditions. Antifungal drugs may also cause side effects ranging from skin rashes to liver damage. Doctors may not recommend them for people with liver disease or congestive heart failure or for those taking certain medications.

Other treatment options
Your doctor may also suggest these treatments:

Antifungal lacquer. If you have a mild to moderate infection of nail fungus, your doctor may prefer to prescribe an antifungal nail polish. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a topical antifungal lacquer called ciclopirox (Penlac), which you paint onto your infected nails and surrounding skin once a day. After seven days, you wipe the piled-on layers clean with alcohol and begin fresh applications. Daily use of Penlac for up to one year or longer has been shown to help clear nail fungal infections, but researchers found that it cured the infections in less than 10 percent of people using it.

Topical medications. Your doctor may also opt for other topical antifungal medications, such as econazole nitrate (Spectazole). In some cases, you may be advised to use these creams with an over-the-counter lotion containing urea to help speed up absorption. Topical medications usually don’t provide a cure but may be used in conjunction with oral medications.
If your nail infection is severe or extremely painful, your doctor may suggest removing your nail. A new nail will usually grow in its place.
